Tirthankar Roy was a student of Bangladesh. His mission was to help the poor during his spare time. He used to give food and clothing to the poor people of the locality. All people were so moved by the work of that boy that they joined him in his noble work. The people came forward to collect funds from the public. They set up a charitable club for this purpose.

They went from door to door to collect old clothes, unused medicines and money. They opened an evening school to teach the poor children the three Tirthankar visited the Nirmal Hriday, home for the helpless a haven for the poor. It was founded by Mother Teresa. Roy was inspired by her organisation. He always remembered the advice of the Mother—One cannot save everyone, but can save one person at a time.
